3-Dimensional Services Raises Funds to Put Packages Together For Troops
3-Dimensional Services Group (Rochester Hills, MI), a leading prototype and low-volume production firm gave new meaning to its mission of “quick turnaround.” The company, noted for its speed in producing prototype parts, raised over $1900 in just two days from its employees in order to purchase and create “care” packages for US armed forces units stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq. The packages, designated for several units both from Michigan and other states filled up two vans with merchandise and were delivered to the senior advisor for the Air National Guard—State of Michigan.
Jenna Peterson, project coordinator at 3-Dimensional Services was not surprised at the involvement and spirit of the employees, “Our employees are great people and they really came up big for the troops. We’re so happy that we can do this small part for our servicemen and women.” Peterson added, “We do a great deal of work for the military, so this was just a small way for us to give back.”
Peterson went on to say that the effort could not have gone as smoothly as it did without the efforts of Laura Rea, 3-Dimensional Services director of human resources. Rea and her mother braved a Saturday morning shopping spree at a membership warehouse to purchase health care, food and household items for the troops.
The 3-Dimensional Services Group which consists of four companies— 3-Dimensional Services, Urgent Plastic Services, Urgent Design & Manufacturing and 3-Dimensional Services-Europe, all have earned a reputation for building functional prototype parts and production parts 50 to 70% faster than conventional prototype shops.
